RE:       Feedback on Shipping Alternatives

The Reman Team has worked diligently to look at ways to improve the process around return of core-charge electronic control boards, as well as the reimbursement process of the core-charge. In doing so, the team was careful to include input form servicers that was provided from earlier surveys out to the field. The feedback being sought at this point is around the shipping alternatives. There are two currently under consideration - Federal Express and Smart-Post (which is a service through the United States Postal Service/USPS).

Based on the previous survey input, both shipping methods will offer the following features...
  • Servicers can send core-boards directly to a return center
  • The return center will process the reimbursement checks back to the servicer
  • All shipments will include tracking capability
  • Whirlpool Corporation will pay up-front for the return shipping charges
  • New control boards include a preprinted return shipping label
  • A reporting system will track returned cores and core reimbursements
  • A nominal return incentive will be paid to servicers in addition to the core charge refund

So, the team would like your input on the two return-shipping alternatives...

  1. Federal Express (which has 1,800 locations nationwide)
  2. US Postal Service (which has 1.5 million locations nationwide, referring to USPS offices and mailboxes/letter carriers)

Please take just a couple minutes to complete the survey - a total of 4 questions. The survey is open through end-of-business on Thursday, September 24, as some decisions need to be made.
Thanks, as always, for your assistance in making this process the best it can be for everyone.
