Whirlpool Service Parts Return

Independent Service Network Program

Whirlpool is expanding its re-manufacturing program in response to the fast pace of change in the electronics industry and the business environment.  With input from Distributors, Servicers and consumers a new voluntary core-return process was developed and implemented in March, 2009.

To make the voluntary core return process as easy as possible, several changes were made to the control board packaging.

  • Green part number labels with the message “Please return this part for recycling” (see sample below)

  • Pictorial and written instructions for returning the core is included in the box

  • A tape strip for resealing the carton is included in the box

  • A no-charge USPS merchandise return label that anyone can use is included in the box

  • Requesting only Serial Number data for reference - on the label of the part

The traditional core charge process is still in effect for a small number of parts as well.

To make parts with a core charge easier to identify, there is also a green parts label on the box with instructions, etc. included inside.  The words Return to Parts Distributor for Core Charge Refund are on the label to differentiate it from the volunteer program.

Please remember to fill out in the product Serial Number on the green label as well as any other requested information in the box.

Thank you in advance for doing your part in making certain there are parts available in the future and keeping our landfills free of recyclable goods.
